I’m John, founder of JCO. I built this site to share everything I’ve learned from my life exploring North Carolina and South Carolina. From all the trails, water spots, parks to check out and the gear you need to adventure all of it!

My goal is simple: help you get outside more. Regardless if you want to paddle Lake Norman, camp under the stars in Uwharrie or just do a simple daytrip in Charlotte to a place you have never been, JCO is built to point you somewhere worth going.
