Hi there!
My name is John Schoeni, and I am the founder of Just Chillin Outdoors. The outdoors has always been a passion for me. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, and camping are just a few of my favorite activities. I started young from the teaching of my mom who exposed me to unique parks and other places around Charlotte, NC. As I got older, I took it on my own to explore new places in the area.
Charlotte, NC has never been known as an outdoors destination. This city has grown tremendously due to a strong white-collar job market. But, the outdoor scene has been stagnant. I hope that exposing you and others to outdoor locations in and around Charlotte will garner more interest from the community. Allowing people like me to further develop new places that preserve nature and allow the public access to enjoy it.
Outside of this blog, I have a day job in data & analytics. I spend my time helping businesses optimize by looking at their data. But, I do partake in some environmental-related data projects here. Beyond this, feel free to check out my portfolio to see my other work.
